On 3 of March Bulgaria celebrates the National Liberation Day. In 1878 (140 years ago) Bulgaria was liberated from almost 500 years of Ottoman rule.
On that day in 1878 the San Stefano peace treaty was signed. This is the end to the 1877-1878 Russo-Turkish war of liberation.
The main celebration is on historical peak Shipka. Traditionally, on the Shipka peak come descendants of people who took part in the battles and the people who built the monument in memory.

The Gabrovo-Shipka Road will be closed for motor vehicles from 20:00 on March 2 to 5:00 on March 3, 2018.
The cars will drive one way from Gabrovo to Shipka peak on March 3 from 5.00 am to 2 pm The 20 km blockade of the motor vehicle is expected to reach the peak.
The parking of the vehicle will be in the direction of traffic on the instructions of the Traffic Police.
The transfer from the “Vazrazhdane” square to the town of Shipka to Shipka peak will start at 7.30 am.
The transport company is ready to provide buses for only 1,000 people. The courses of the opposite buses will start at 2.00 pm The ticket price in both directions is BGN 4
