The balls of the Bulgarian school leavers

End of May is the period of the balls of the Bulgarian school leavers. Cars decorated with balloons, happy young people, proud parents and a lot of noise. The streets resound with the voice of the happy school leavers which count from 1 to 12 again and again until they lose their voices. This special moment of the Bulgarian grown children is as special as the wedding. The whole country is “seeing of” the young people.
Starting with the dress, car, hair-style, jewelries, shoes and everything related with the happiness of the young – this tradition became the real Vanity Fair. The culmination is the students’ ball within a luxury restaurant. In addition parents with friends and relations celebrate the end of the school of the young boy or girl. Some of the parents must take a loan in order to pay everything that their child wants. All these emotions and thrills are short like a second. On the next day, life continues as it was and the ball is forgotten. Useless dress, shoes and accessories and maybe few photos are left to the students.
The excellent students will leave the country and most of them will never return. For the rest this ball will be the first and the last moment when they feel rich, special and well dressed. And when comes the moment when their children finish the school, they will be ready to buy everything so that everybody can see how perfect their life is!
