National Palce of Culture is built in 1981

Fountains in front of the National Palce of Culture 

All fountains in Sofia have the same work schedule.

The fountains are set playing end April and stop middle of November. You can see them from 8:00 to 23:00 h

In hot summer evenings a lot of people are sitting around the water. It is a real pleasure!

The monument in front of the National Palace of Culture

In November 2017 a lion is returned in front of the National Palace of Culture.

It was removed in 1977 by the National Palace of Culture in order to build the 1300 years old monument in Bulgaria.

Place for children in the National Palace of Culture

There is a very beautiful artificial stream where children play in summer. The stones for the stream are from Vitosha mountain.

In snowy winter children and parents use the slope to sledge.

Memorial and chapel for the victims of communism

Memorial and chapel for the victims of communism were built in 1999.

The names of more than 8,000 repressed are written on the fan-shaped black granite wall.

Monument “Segment of the Berlin Wall”

The piece of the Berlin Wall arrived in Sofia in 2006. At that time mayor of Sofia was the current

prime minister Boyko Borisov. The name of the author an architect is arch. Boyko Kadinov.

Unfortunately in 2015 the original graffiti were by mistake “restored” and the wall was painted in grey.

The three Pylons

The three big pylons are a very famous place. A lot of people from Sofia use them to make an appointment or to explain which part of the National Palace are we talking about.

The pylons can be hidden in the ground but nobody knows of the mechanism is still working.

Monument of St.St.Cyril and Methodius

In front of the main building there is a Monument of St.St.Cyril and Methodius with some of the old bulgarian letters.

National Palace of Culture is lighted in different colors. It is really very beautiful in all seasons.
